PDQ Not Charging
The PDQ charges through 4 pins when sat on the base station, follow the below troubleshooting steps to resolve charging issues:
- Clean the charging dock and PDQ by spraying a mild cleaning solution on a microfibre cloth.
- Focus on the gold contacts on the base and bottom of the PDQ.
- Also clean the base with a paintbrush or toothbrush as sometimes there might be things such as coffee beans or chalk in the base when its near the coffee grinder or chalk boards.
- Check the charging dock has power - If it has power there will be a green light on the base station. If there is no light check all cables are connected properly or try a different charging cable.
- Try the PDQ on a different base to determine whether the base station or the terminal is at fault.
- Contact IT stating what is broken and the terminal ID which can be found under the battery labelled PTID, a replacement can then be organised.
PDQ Has No Wi-Fi
The PDQ will need at least 10% battery in order for the Wi-Fi to work, if required, leave it to charge before trying to reconnect the WiFi.
- To reconnect the terminal to Wi-Fi follow the steps below:
- From the main menu press 'Supervisor', then enter the password
- Choose 'Media', then press enter on 'WiFi'
- Using the arrows on the touchscreen scroll down to 77 and press enter, choose Make Active
- The terminal will now connect to the WiFi and take you back to main menu
If this doesn't work restart the device by removing the battery, re-inserting and holding the green button to boot up the terminal.
