Master WiFi Troubleshoot Guide: https://wgb.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/articles/4406396429457-WiFi-Troubleshooting-Guest-WiFi-in-the-Hotel
When moving around the hotel your device will disconnect from the Wi-Fi, it should automatically reconnect but you may need to go into the settings and manually re-join.
The first step on all devices is to forget the network, reboot the device and re-join the network.
If the guest is experiencing disconnecting in only one location test in this area with the GRM laptop connected to the guest network.
iPhone/iPad
Disabling private MAC address
From iOS 15 Apple devices have introduced Private Wi-Fi Addressing. We recommend disabling this as the first step.
Restart your iPhone and then go to:
Settings>Wi-Fi>Press on the
next to the WiFi name>Turn off Private Wi-Fi Address
Once disabled you will need to reconnect and authenticate to the guest network.
Disabling Wi-Fi Assist and Networking and Wireless
In some instances iPhones will try to use data when the Wi-Fi network is considered unstable. This is likely not the case but will result in the phone being disconnected from Wi-Fi. To disable:
Settings>Mobile Service (scroll to bottom)>Turn off Wi-Fi Assist
We have also noticed the Networking & Wireless setting within location services has caused disconnecting, to disable this:
Settings>Privacy & Security>Location Services>System Services>Turn Off Networking & Wireless
Special Considerations
- Although VPN's will work it's recommended to disable them as these can cause connectivity problems.
